Active Positions

Education Assistant (Fall/Spring) - CITY CAMPUS
Book, enter into database, and confirm tours of the Museum. Call to schedule docents as needed. Answer phones. Prepare mailings. Fill brochure racks throughout the Museum and order brochures. Compile survey information. Enter Trailblazer orders into database. Work with students visiting the Hands-On History Room. Other duties as assigned. Interest in Nebraska history and working with a variety of people volunteers, staff, children and visitors. Comfortable with computers and making phone calls regularly. $7.00 per hour; 10-15 hours per week. fall/spring work study. Three positions available.

Museum Data Entry - CITY CAMPUS
Individual to work with museum collections data entry and erification of existing commputer data. Individual will input data from museum catalog forms, as well as from old records. Must be able to type; must be detail oriented. Computer knowledge required. $7.00 per hour for 10-20 hors/week. Fall 2007 - Spring 2008.

Museum Store Office Clerk - CITY CAMPUS
General office work. Assist with order of merchandise, mail orders, filing. Greets and assists museum store visitors with sales. Friendly dependable, able to work cash register and credit card machines. Ability to work independently. 10 -20 hours per week (some weekend hours). $7.00 per hour Fall 2007-Spring 2008 work study.

Museum Technician I - CITY CAMPUS
Cataloging of new acquisitions, some data entry, collections inventory, storage maintenance, basic cleaning of objects. May require some lifting and other physical labor. Some background in museum cataloging or inventory helpful. Computer knowledge helpful. Fall 2007 - Spring 2008 Work study. Pay is $7.00 per hour for 15-20 hrs/wk.

Museum Technician II (Fall/Spring position) - CITY CAMPUS
Cataloging of new acquisitions, some data entry of cataloging, collections inventory, re-cataloging and researching of objects, museum object condition reports. $7.00 per hour; 10 to 20 hours per week. Two positions available.

Research Assistant: - CITY CAMPUS
Fall 2007 - Spring 2008 UNL School Year. Successful candidate will assist with publication, broadcast, and Internet project by performing tasks such as checking footnotes, reading microfilm, transcribing manuscript materials, scanning. $7.00 per hour - Up to 20 hours per week. Security Guard - CITY CAMPUS
Fall 2007-Spring 2008 UNL School Year. 2 positions available. Help staff security with monitoring patrons in museum, be able to sit at post, and walk galleries. Some background in field would be helpful. One position will work Saturday afternoons (1-4 pm) and one position will work Sunday afternoons (1-4) plus additional hours during the week as schedule permits. $7.00 per hour 20 hours per week. Our physical location is 1500 R Street.

Staff Assistant - CITY CAMPUS
1 position. Student majoring in marketing to assist in working with membership development and mass mailings. Duties include filing, answering phone, organizing and copying. Light computer work may include updating donor database, working with spreadsheets.$7.00 per hour up to 20 hours per week Must be eligible for work study.
