The Falls City Canning Company was a short-lived business enterprise established in 1886, with E.D. Heyde as trustee, and T.S. Waltemeyer as manager. The facility had a capacity of 40,000 cans per day, and packed the J. Waltemeyer & Son Medical brand of canned goods. In the Nebraska State Gazetteer and Business Directory for 1888-1889, the factory was touted as a "major industry, giving employment to a large number of people." However, by 1890, the Falls City Canning Company had ceased operations.

This collection of business records of the Falls City Canning Company consists of three volumes of account books dating from 1886-1889. The volumes contain records of daily receipts and expenditures during the short term existence of the company. Specifically, Volume 1 ("Blotter"), is a crude log of daily transactions for the period 1886-1888. Volume 2 (Daybook) presents more detailed entries for such transactions for the period 1886-1889 that are entered under individual accounts as debits and credits.
