The post office for the village of Dustin was established on November 9, 1883. Two and a half years later, on July 21, 1886, a Congregational Church was organized as testimonies, articles of faith, and a covenant were assented to and officers were elected. The original members numbered fifteen. Three months later, on October 18th, church land was deeded and the membership adopted the name of the Dustin Congregational Church. The church building was dedicated on September 11, 1887.

This collection consists of one volume of minutes dating from 1886-1912. The material in this collection relates to the activities of the Dustin, Nebraska Congregational Church. The minutes provide information on church membership, election of officers, pastors hired, financial transactions, and collections pledged. Also included is a pamphlet entitled, "General Policies of Church Polity," which states the testimonies, articles of faith, and covenant of the church and a 1904 membership roll. The material in this collection is photocopied; the originals are not in the NSHS collections.
