SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The Salem Lutheran Church collection consists of a one volume Church register which dates from 1882 to 1956. It contains the names of church members, when and where they were born, baptized and confirmed, marriage records, the date they arrived in America and where from, the date they arrived in the community and where from, and the date they removed from the community. Death notations are listed under the title "Remarks."

These records contain information concerning the church members of this Dixon County community. The church register was loaned for microfilming on October 29, 1957, by the Rev. C. Willard Carlson as a part of the Norden Club project in Scandinavian history.
