RG3244.AM: United Methodist Church (Trenton, Neb.)
Trenton, Hitchcock County, Neb.: Methodist Church
Size: 8 volumes on 1 reel of microfilm
The Methodist Church of Trenton, Nebraska, held its first Quarterly Conference on December 4, 1887. At first the Methodists shared a building with the Congregational Church, but on October 4, 1888, they laid the cornerstone for a church building of their own. Until 1908, Trenton was served by a pastor who also rode circuit in the surrounding territory. In that year the congregation at Trenton became an independent station. An increasing membership required a new and larger church which was dedicated in 1926.
