SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This collection consists of one letter (in German) written by August Hasse to "Friend Mayer," dating from January 26, 1894. The letter was written by Hasse while on a trip to Skidmore, Texas. In the letter he describes the farming practices in Texas, primarily cotton-growing and cattle-raising, and compares the farming practices to those in Nebraska. The original letter is in German, but an English typescript is also available.
