BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Walter Henry Frost was born on August 4, 1887 in Carleton, Nebraska. He was a graduate of the Lincoln Business College and worked in the hardware business. Ava Blanche Worley was born on September 4, 1889 in Hoxie, Kansas. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School, the teachers' college at Nebraska Wesleyan University, and the Lincoln Business College. Walter and Ava were united in marriage on June 12, 1912 at Ava Blanche's parents house. After their wedding, they farmed near Central City, Nebraska and after five years they moved to Manley, Nebraska where Walter became part owner in a retail lumberyard. On January 22, 1916, they had a daughter named Ramona Nadine. After five years in Manley, they moved to Lincoln, Nebraska.

Ramona Nadine Frost married Robert Franklin Buer on December 15, 1939. Robert attended public schools and graduated from Lincoln High School. He attended the University of Nebraska and the Lincoln School of Commerce. He worked for Continental Oil Company in Lincoln before getting married, and in 1940, Ramona and Robert moved to Seattle, Washington. In January of 1945, Robert was drafted and took his training at Camp Roberts, California. He was sent to Korea and was discharged from service on August 2, 1946. In 1950 he purchased a hardware store in Seattle and in 1964 they moved to Bellflower, California. In 1971, Robert retired and they moved to Riviera, Arizona.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This collection contains two boxes of genealogical research materials compiled by Ramona Buer. The materials consist of genealogical worksheets, family trees, correspondence, and miscellaneous financial and legal papers. Some of the families represented include the Brownell, Buer, Frost, Warner, and Worley families. Most of the materials relate to Cass, Lancaster, and Otoe counties in southeastern Nebraska. Various family photographs are located in the photo component of this collection. Please ask a Reference Staff member for assistance with the photographs.
