SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The collection consists of one letter dated May 26, 1850. The letter is written to Amanda Manion from her husband Isam B. Manion. In the brief letter Manion tells how his Missouri to California trip is progressing; tries to allay his wife's fears about Indians killing the emigrants; and acknowledges his grief over the death of their child.
