This collection consists of an 80-page reminiscence (typescript) written by Rachel (Campbell) Ball in 1950. The reminiscence describes pioneer life in Nemaha County, Nebraska and the founding and growth of Brock, Nebraska. Rachel's father, J.M. Campbell, brought the Campbell family from Indiana in 1870. He started the first general store in Podunk Station, which later changed names to Brock. The reminiscence also describes such topics as prairie fires, grasshoppers, the flood of 1883, and "Indian troubles."
