HISTORICAL NOTE

To commemorate the one hundredth anniversary of the organization of Custer County, a centennial program was held on February 27, 1977. A year-long series of special events was sponsored by the Custer County Historical Society to mark the centennial year.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This collection consists of a scrapbook dating from 1977. This collection relates to the centennial celebration to mark the one hundredth anniversary of Custer County, Nebraska's organization. Included is a banquet program, an obituary for Carl E. Smith, a centennial history written by Phillip K. Gardner, a list of Custer County place names, and a history of the Hugo Players written by Phillip Gardner.
