SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The collection contains ephemera relating to the issuing of the Nebraska Statehood Centennial Commemorative stamp. Included in the collection are copies of newspaper articles; programs and other publicity items form the Lincoln Philatelic Exposition (LinPex), July 29-30, 1967; and postmarked examples of the First Day of Issue cachet covers.

Note:  See the Nebraska Centennial Commission records [RG0052] for more information about the Nebraska Statehood Centennial stamp. The Museum of Nebraska History collections include original sketches by Julian K. Billings considered for use as the Nebraska Statehood Centennial stamp. Not all items are on exhibit. Interested researchers are asked to contact the Museum Collections department to schedule an appointment.
