SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The collection contains the original and typescript copy of the constitution and by-laws of the Literary Circle (Plattsmouth, Neb.). The materials date from 1858 and include a list of members as well as minutes of meetings for various meetings held in January and February of 1858. The Literary Circle (Plattsmouth, Neb.) was the first known literary club organized in Nebraska Territory.
