BACKGROUND NOTE

The Lincoln Music Teachers Association was founded on May 1, 1942. The object of the organization was to advance musical culture and training in Lincoln, Nebraska, by holding concerts, recitals, and related musical activities. The Association sponsored regular recitals by pupils of the music teachers who belonged to the association.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This collection consists of two scrapbooks relating to the history and activities of the Lincoln Music Teachers Association, 1942-1972. The scrapbooks include the constitution of the organization, recital programs, newspaper clippings, and yearbooks.
