Octogenarian Manuel Ramirez emigrated with family from Mexico in the 1920s. Like many other Mexicans, they traveled first to Kansas City, Missouri, and then to the rich North Platte valley in Nebraska. Mr. Ramirez became a farmer and soon developed a reputation for raising some of the finest sugar beets in the region.
Un hombre de ochenta años, Manuel Ramírez emigro con su familia de México durante los años veinte. Como muchos otros mexicanos, viajaron primero a Kansas City, Missouri, y después al rico valle del North Platte en Nebraska. El señor Ramírez se hizo granjero y pronto desarrolló una reputación por sembrar algunos de las mejores cosechas de betabel de la región.
