Omaha, Nebraska, resident Juvencia Reyes (shown here with her daughters Gloria and Dolores and granddaughter Cecilia), was known for her wonderful food, which she learned to cook from her mother. She cooked for numerous fiestas and family and community gatherings. She was born in 1900 in Guanajuato, Mexico and came with her parents to Omaha in 1919. Her father established the first Mexican church, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, in Omaha.
