Vocabulary:

expedition - a journey to explore a new land
Louisiana Purchase - land purchased by the United States in 1803, doubling the size of the United States at that time
natural resources - materials occurring naturally such as water, minerals, animals, or timber
trading post - a place where people went to exchange fur or money for goods
treaties - an agreement or arrangement made by negotiation made between two or more groups of people
