Little Bluestem is Nebraska's state grass. Growing from one to two and one-half feet tall, it is a nutritious forage grass that makes good winter hay. Although not very noticeable on the summer prairie, it blankets Nebraska's countryside with a warm bronze color after the first frost in the fall.
