THE COTTONWOOD TREE

The cottonwood is the Nebraska state tree. It is found throughout the state, but grows best near rivers and streams, sometimes reaching eighty feet in height. White fibers that look like cotton are attached to the seeds and spring breezes can blow them for miles.
