October 15, 2004 The Nebraska State Historic Preservation Office announces the completion of the Nebraska Historic Buildings Survey of Cass County. The survey was conducted to identify historic structures in each town and rural area of the County. The survey will give public policy makers and citizens a tool to promote historic preservation, economic and community development and tourism.
A public meeting intended to discuss the findings of the historic buildings survey will be held in conjunction with the Cass County Historical Society Annual Meeting and Dinner. Those wishing to attend the dinner must purchase tickets before 4:00 Friday, October 22. Tickets are $10.00 per person. Tickets will not be available at the door. 7:30 PM, Thursday, October 28The public meeting will be an opportunity for the citizens of Cass County to discuss the findings, purpose, and uses of the historic buildings survey. The meeting will consist of a thirty to forty-five minute presentation, to be followed by a question and answer session.
The State Historic Preservation Office urges everyone interested in historic preservation, the history of Cass county, and community and economic development opportunities in the county to attend the meeting.
