Falter also made numerous drawings while at the Odessa Jazz Party in Odessa, Texas, in 1974. Many of the original drawings are shown here with lithographs from the 1971 "Jazz from Life" series. In contrast to his sketches done at the 1971 Colorado Jazz Party, the Odessa works incorporated more color.

Kai Winding played trombone in big bands led by Benny Goodman, Stan Kenton, and Charlie Ventura. Winding was one of the earliest trombonists to play in the bop style with Charlie Parker and in a quintet with J. J. Johnson.

Milt Hinton

Milt Hinton played bass as a member of Cab Calloway's band for fifteen years, as well as with Count Basie and Louis Armstrong's All Stars. Hinton is also known as a jazz educator and jazz photographer.
