This collection consists of photocopies of genealogical and historical information about Nathan and Rachel Pattison. The Pattison family was part of a group that left Sparta, Illinois, in 1849 on an overland journey to Oregon. Rachel Pattison became ill and died on June 18, 1849 at what is now Ash Hollow near Lewellen, Nebraska. She is buried in the Ash Hollow Cemetery in the Ash Hollow State Historical Park area. The rest of the family continued on to Oregon, settling near Oregon City. Nathan Pattison died in 1893 and is buried in the Old Fellows Cemetery at Olympia, Washington.
