The Senator George Norris State Historic Site hosts an annual quilting exhibit.
The Pre-World War II Quilt display is in September. A Pennsylvania Dutch quilt made by George Norris's mother in the mid 1880s was the inspiration for this exhibit and is always a part of the display. Local families loan their rarely seen heirlooms, and collections of vintage quilts from the southwest Nebraska area are featured. The Nebraska State Historical Society regularly includes quilts from its collection as a part of this display. The exhibit includes quilts that were hand- or machine-stitched and quilted before the end of World War II. The exhibit is on display during the entire month of September during regular hours. Special tours can be arranged.
